I have worked obsessively on the same subject since 2012. I depict a small piece of Celestine, a gemstone mineral (SrSO4), mainly composed from the decay of marine organisms, transformed into shining and brightening crystals by the effect of time and pressure. As if a personal religion, Celestine - Caelestis allude to some sort of heaven on earth, which our material body can reach after death, deceiving mortality. This offers us the possibility that human bones and knowledge, raised in years of investigations, could easily be found in the sap of a leaf, the light dance of a snowflake, the reflecting bright shining of a crystal molecule.
