Into the deep blue storm

I’ve been always fascinated by nature and its powers. To express this passion, I’ve created this dramatic, stormy deep blue sea. The 3d effect appear to change once the viewer perspective or angle are changed. The back side lights adding to this paintwork more dramatic looks. 

This paintwork was created in a triple (2x 40x50 cm; 1x 70×90cm). Abstract mixed media with gesso, stones, and acrylics (pouring and paint brush) were used. Firstly, the gesso and embedded stones were used to build the rocky shore. Next, acrylic pouring was used to create the sea view and emphasise the waves crushing on the rocks. Finally, the 3d shape of the rocks was paint brushed with acrylics.
