Women in Mexico are used to live with gender violence, since 95% of rapists go unpunished every year in this country, for which many learn to shut up about what they live even within their own home, being 2020 a year with the highest incidence on this issue. But this not only happens in Mexico. So I assume to think that women have a terrible fear of speaking, they are used to things being this way, or they think that they will not be able to support themselves financially so they learn to deal with this reality, that is why in this painting I cover the eyes to this woman in the portrait of "Blind Women" because she speaks of this absurd reality of not see the reality.
-Between heaven and tide the infinite reality appears, the insecure, and unreal truth, combined with absurd and trivial melancholy.-
