Regarding Geisha and their enigmatic beauty - their striking appearance was further emphasized through natural cosmetics - more precisely, the "Beni" red pigment, produced from safflower petals.
The result being gently provocative, while remaining soft and elegant - this balance is what mainly inspired this piece, as well as the natural origin of the beautiful pigment.
This particular piece was included in my personal exhibition in Sofia, Bulgaria (May, 2025), titled "Oubaitori".
Regarding "Oubaitori" (桜梅桃李) - a Japanese idiom, translates to "cherry, plum, peach, and apricot." It symbolizes the idea that everyone grows and blooms at their own pace, encouraging self-acceptance and discouraging comparison with others. The idiom highlights the beauty and value of individual uniqueness and the different timelines for personal growth and development.
I sincerely hope you enjoy this series, as I find it to be a quite personal and close to heart.
Each of these unique paintings has their own Certificate of Authenticity and is registered in the "Hahnemühle" database - each certificate signifies that this specific artwork is an original piece, with my personal signature and relevant information on it.
Regarding "Hahnemühle" Certificates of Authenticity: Each certificate is made of premium deckle edged mould-made paper with a Hahnemühle watermark and fluorescent security fibers. A serialized numbered hologram is added. A second, identically numbered hologram is applied to the reverse side of the artwork.
