Alma Sheik born in Suriname and raised in Holland,currently lives and works in Tuscany.Through her painting the artist intends to convey the joy of life.In her abstract-informal compositions the artist inserts the motifs that reflect the flooring of ancient Venetian churches, where she manages to combine the present with the past, creating a refined painting.Her palette of delicate pink shades, ocher with the addition of gold, evokes peace and harmony.Recently the artist has enriched her chromatic range by resuming the use of bright colors to forcefully express her expressions which always refer to the elements taken from nature.Alma Sheik exhibited in New York,subsequently in France, Holland and Italy, receiving numerous awards and media publications.In 2022 during the Tamara Art Award in Venice she received The First Prize receiving great appreciation among visitors.Her artistic motto is "develop, whatever our temperament or ability is in front of nature,reproducing what we see, forgetting everything that was before us."
