Material: paper cuttings; vintage handwritten fragment; image of collage by artist printed on vellum overlay; metallic ink
Paper is my paint. My work explores qualities of transience and permanence and asks the viewer to consider what is beneath the surface.
Recurring themes are knowability; memory; and the human condition. Elements of painting, drawing and collage coexist, and the extension of
the compositions beyond the mat openings have metaphorical as well as formal significance.
My process involves layering, working with contrasting textures, and incorporating found materials that tell a story.
