il nome all’opera.
traditions in some areas of the hinterland are getting lost and this
is happening in the territory of the Matese too.
handed down verbally from generation to generation but nowadays, we
are moving away from the rock culture that for centuries has provided
wise teachings that have safeguarded internal and inaccessible places
of our peninsula.
installation ”Abitazione K” is a contemporary construction that
however uses the knowledge that our ancestors kept jealously ;thanks
to a grid of bamboo canes, it uses rainwater to spray the turf which
becomes a lagging and covers the load-bearing wooden structure.
shape of the structure is enveloping and recalls the mantle that the
peasants wore to protect themselves from the harsh winters and which
gives the work its name.
