The selected work is a quarter composed by four light boxes (60x60 cm each
one), all part of the Impronte Eterne series, which includes a total of
40 pieces.
These
are enigmatic works where the physical bodies of the subjects are absent. The
drapery, reminiscent of ancient classical statues, appears as if it were being
worn, and one or more shadows like imprints represent the eternal memory of the
characters and their life experiences.
The
viewer is encouraged to look beyond the surface, seeking what is hidden and
intimate. These works, the result of photographs taken and digitally reworked
by the artist, are enhanced by the backlighting of the light boxes, which
reveals the colours and the image as originally conceived at the moment of the
shot.
Even
though the protagonists are physically absent, their presence is eternal,
because they have left their "imprints", emotional ones through the
shadow and physical ones through the drapery.
Part of
the enigma lies in the decision to number the works of the series, always keeping the same
title, in order to leave room for the viewer's imagination, inviting them to
give the work its own story and intimate narrative.
