By questioning the unknown boundaries of 2D and 3D, the Re-formation series was created to explore the transition between dimensions. I
chose three everyday objects and
unfamiliarized them by disassembling, editing, and recombining, such that they
became useful drawing tools to create dots, lines, and patterns. As I kept
experimenting to reconstruct the drawing tool itself, I also created new experimental
2D drawings. With each cycle of practice, the drawings and drawing tools
evolved together. Meanwhile, the 2D and 3D outcomes could lose certain
connections to the original but also generate new ones to invite audiences to
reimagine the familiarity.
