pìccolo is a leather cup holder designed to celebrate the small moments that often go unnoticed in everyday life.
A brief stop at a coffee shop, the familiar act of holding a paper cup, a quiet moment spent with a drink in hand—these ordinary experiences became the starting point for this work. By introducing a crafted leather object into these everyday rituals, I sought to encourage a greater awareness of the value hidden within seemingly insignificant moments.
The title pìccolo, meaning “small” in Italian, reflects the central idea of the design. The holder folds into a compact form, accompanies brief moments of daily life, and gradually develops its own character through the natural aging of leather. Each of these transformations embodies a different aspect of “smallness” and the quiet richness it can bring to human experience.
More than a functional object, pìccolo invites the user to rediscover the beauty of ordinary moments. It is a work that suggests that a richer and more meaningful life can emerge through an appreciation of the small things that surround us every day.
