The Glass Garment was born from her experimentation with using materials such as glass and fabric beyond their usual functions and properties. The artist presents other layers of meaning in the transparency and resistance of glass, now applied to garments and the surfaces of objects at different scales.
In these pieces, the results of her research in the field of fashion with dyeing natural fabrics, developed since 2015, and techniques focused on exploring the potential of glass are noticeable.
Patricia combines extensive knowledge of fabric painting techniques with the mastery of someone who knows how to transgress and play with the possibilities of using glass and fabric in a very unique, unusual, and sophisticated grammar. She explores the aesthetic practices of addition – present in Art Deco, Baroque, and in contemporary appropriation strategies – always using color and materiality as guiding principles for her work.
