Material: blown borosilicate glass, bio based epoxy resin, natural molds and solar LED spotlights
Cosmic Views is a series of luminous glass bodies, inspired by the new ferments of modern astronomy and the countless ethical-scientific questions on the possibility of extraterrestrial life. The work converts the stimuli generated by new space explorations by drawing inspiration from recent satellite images acquired from the surfaces of ancient celestial bodies, reworked through a filter of interdisciplinary scientific knowledge. Combining the biological aspect with the artificial one, the research possibilities offered by bioart and biodesign are investigated, in which the key aspects are mutually fused in a guided biological growth of natural molds, left to grow and then incorporated in a protected environment.Through different lights, colors, shapes and textures obtained from a series of artistic and laboratory processes combined on glass, industrial waste plastic materials are revitalized and processed in an innovative way.
The aesthetic and technical value is emphasized by a photovoltaic LED light source, which makes visible the imaginary axial and geological movements known and interpreted in a functional vision in the fluid and biological matter.
In the single living worlds, unexplored and crystallized in their becoming, each user can encourage himself to interact in an inner conversation generated by the multivision of the microworlds, in which to question the origins and meaning of life. The artistic intent is animated by generating a motive for investigation for a new internal dimensional configuration, profoundly alternative in order to compose an entire aesthetic cosmos of emotional suggestions to induce decentralized reflections from the rampant anthropocentrism of man on the cosmos that characterizes the contemporary era.
