Oh stone, harboring secrets, hidden worlds,
Arousing desires to grasp and explore your curves.....
Tough yet tender, resilient and fragile,
Both free and bound, contradictory in nature
You've witnessed past and future, a timeless grace,
A vessel of memory, my muse in this place.....
Oh stone, my canvas, my guiding star,
Through you, I inscribe my tales, creating from afar.....
Grant me the power to narrate a home's story,
In your calm kingdom, I find peace, your glory......
Share with me your sanctity, enduring and true,
Eternal, you stand, as I, human, pass through......
informative text:
The jewelry presented entails stones and nails adorning the human form directly or through their encasements. The nails, meticulously honed, curved, and excavated, serve as mechanisms to secure the stones, inducing unique folds in the fabric. Through carving the stone, an extension and intimately personal space inspired by both human anatomy and organic architectural principles are forged. Within this space, the values of preservation, memory, and the quest for healing from the potential anguish of separation from my cherished land and home by prevailing conditions of political conflict find profound representation.
Manifesting a deep-rooted commitment to sustainability, I have repurposed leftover stones and nails from my garden in my design, conscientiously segregating them to reinforce a foundation grounded in recycling. While engaging with the stone, I have preserved specific facets, delicately sculpting others in accord with the material's formal and structural attributes, all the while adhering to the tenets of organic architecture.
