Since my
youngest age, I have been transported by colors, images and sound. Although my
career has hold me a long time in the rational world, I have never forgotten
what nourishes my dreams. Today, I have chosen a way of life that combines colors,
images and sound.
My rational
side allows me to understand our world. Sensitivity, emotions and feelings
bring me images that I am trying today to transcribe in a totally self-taught
way.
If two
decades ago, I timidly realized some very classic paintings, it is in the form
of comic-strips that I returned to the artistic universe. The complexity, the
futility and the daily life of the humans are giving me material to create the
characters “Jaune & Vert” (also known as “Jay & Vee”) and relate
stories about the everyday life, in comic strips that have been published for
2,5 years in Swiss-French biggest daily newspaper “20 Minutes”.
My need to
create, to explore more abstractly my thoughts recently led me to a new
dimension. The influence of comics does not disappear overnight and can be
perceived in my way of drawing and painting. However, I’m trying to avoid
precision and superfluous details.
Mixing
different techniques (painting, collage, drawing) allow me to express myself in
a less restrained way, less contained and I hope less organized.
