Leuchtgelb is a self-taught artist with an interesting background. After studying in technology, her attention to detail and mathematical precision are reflected in her highly recognizable paintings. Her allegorical animal drawings with colorful, mostly geometric backgrounds suggest computer generated works - however, they are painted in pedantic detail using acrylic paints and ink. Her paintings have already been shown in various international exhibitions.
When an animal is removed from its natural environment, it often appears colorful and strangely patterned. However, if you put it back, it blurs into its natural surroundings and seems to disappear. Leuchtgelb's animals are full of shenanigans and clamber in front of colorful backgrounds. Reminiscent of medieval bestiaries or natural history ink drawings of the 19th century, but larger, more energetic and colorful.
Katrin Leuchtgelb was born in 1987 in Austria, Europe and works in Vienna. Her love for natural and geometric structures are an homage to life and death.
