I´m Zamira Mtanous an artist based in Mexico. Since I was little I had a very peculiar aesthetic sensitivity towards art and nature. I studied architecture in México and since I was fourteen I attended art classes, I learned directly from different Mexican artists which encouraged me to experiment with my own techniques and knowledge. My studies surrounded different approaches to artistic production showing a natural talent for creation. I had participated in different exhibitions including a solo art show in "Museo Regional" at Puebla, Mexico.
I am a visual artist interested in exploring the conceptual possibilities of textiles in combination with materials such as wood and natural pigments. I have also created my own color palettes. The central theme of my work focuses on the concept of ephemeral permanence which reflects my reading and connection with fibers and materials.
My main motivation comes from the recognition of qualities such as naturalness, uniqueness, transparency and syntheticity in the materials I use that enrich the sense of ephemeral permanence expressed in my pieces.
The soul therefore becomes a source of creative inspiration; I recognize in it change, duration, vulnerability, brevity and fragility in a beautiful mixture of opposites.
