Yoko Yoshizawa, born in Tokyo in 1955, graduated from Aoyama Gakuin University with B.A., with one academic year as an exchange student at the University of the Pacific, Stockton, California. She started translating/retelling/writing children’s stories when she was a student.
She took printmaking classes at the Pacific Art League of Palo Alto 1998; spent a month as an artist in residence at Grafisch Atelier Utrecht, Holland 2007; another month as an artist in residence at Malaspina Printmakers Society, Canada 2008. She started oil painting in 2012, producing cast animals and iron plate sculptures in 2019. She is a member of Ozaki Masashi Print Studio since 1999.
She has shown her artworks in many galleries in Japan; overseas galleries such as Canada, Holland, the U.S.A
