Xiaoyu’s practice centres on wearable fabric sculptures and dynamic interactive fabric installations, exploring the resonance between natural and artificial vibrations in the universe. Often employing sensing technology to capture the subtle frequencies inside and outside the human body, she integrates traditional knitting logic with motor systems, laser cutting, and other hybrid techniques to achieve a poetic fusion of matter and energy.
Her works have been exhibited at platforms including the British Museum, the Textile Society of the UK, and London Fashion Week, expanding the boundaries of textile art through innovative forms. She is currently the co-founder of Shanghai Yihu Technology Co., Ltd., a company dedicated to developing interactive garments and health-monitoring wearables, and has collaborated with multiple fashion brands on cross-disciplinary design projects.
