PRESENTATION
At first she danced.
Now she defines emotion as mobility.
Trained in different disciplines, she studied the relationship between them: contemporary dance, Tai Chi Chuan, Chinese calligraphy and painting. All these disciplines are for her forms of writing of the gesture. The imprint (the act of pressing), then the trace (the act of moving) and finally the writing (the act of composing) represent the process of memorising the movement. She points out that, contrary to all expectations, movement is not self-affirmation because it is already there in the breath; it is because it escapes us that it must be written.
The body takes a central place in his work very early on.
The face, which groups together all the organs of communication and is the only part of the body that is always visible, appears to her as an omnipresent reference point.
She paints what is warm and breathes: animals, people, but more obsessively, faces. She is eagerly immersed in a serial production and evolves in the «motional» flow of others. For several years, the portrait and all its natures have been the object of a long study and this slow exploration feeds her love for the being and its movements, a love that never ceases to grow.
She works on very large formats, penetrating the moving flesh of her subjects.
Various living mediums such as bitumen or black ink allow such body to body contact, but her attraction for oil paint is even stronger.
His painting mixes transparency and opacity. The earthy colour sometimes refers to ancient times.
It is rare that the canvases remain fixed to the wall. She undoes, reverses and upsets what has been stopped.
The staging questions the canvas for what it supports and proposes a story in which the human being is irrevocably confronted with himself.
She works in the Kugler factories. Her research sometimes leads to large installations.
L’Atelier du portrait, opened in 2017, is an extension of her studio to the outside world.
