Ian Wolter is a British artist and sculptor who is mainly concerned with the abuse of power in society and with how art is used to project status and power. Agnostic in terms of media and technique, he uses these choices to carry meaning; but also because he considers nothing to be ‘off-limits’. His practice ranges from traditional, craft based figurative sculpture to the experimental and conceptual. He trained with the sculptor, Anne Curry and then at the Cambridge School of Art (BA Hons). Prizes have included the Arte Laguna Prize 2016 and RomArt Sculpture Prize 2017.
He lives and works near Cambridge with the author Clare Mulley, their three daughters and a lurcher.
