Maayan Sophia Weisstub is a multidisciplinary artist based in London, working across kinetic sculpture, sculpture, collage, drawing, and video. Her practice is largely self-taught, shaped by a wide spectrum of influences, and driven by a desire to explore perspectives beyond conventional boundaries. Rooted in a development outside traditional institutions and enriched by her experiences as a transnational and transcultural creator, her work reflects a distinct and sensitive engagement with the materials and objects that form the fabric of everyday life.
A graduate of the Royal College of Art, Maayan's work has been exhibited internationally in renowned institutions including Christie’s, Omer Tiroche Gallery, Saatchi Gallery, and the Museum of the Home in London. She has been recognized as a shortlisted finalist for the Robert Walters Group UK New Artist of the Year Award and the John Ruskin Art Prize.
Whether emerging from personal introspection or encounters with the broader world, her practice seeks to offer unexpected perspectives on the mundane. Through collage and illustration, she reconfigures familiar settings or imbues everyday objects with surprising qualities—inviting viewers to reconsider the meanings we project, consciously and unconsciously, onto our daily lives.
Her work has been featured in publications such as WhiteHot Magazine, Kaltblut Magazine, Hyperallergic, White Paper By, and others.
