I come from China and I have loved all colorful and interesting things since I was a child. I studied painting and entered the university of visual communication multimedia design. After that, I came to Paris Saint-Denis University to continue the research of digital multimedia communication. I worked in Paris Publicis Group and TBWA International respectively. The advertising group serves as the art creative director, responsible for the overall design of the website and advertising for brands (Cartier, Levi’s, McDonald’s, Nissan, Guerlain, Lancome, Nike, Total, etc.), immersed in the international and diverse cultural and artistic atmosphere, giving Her creation has brought infinite inspiration.
By chance, I came into contact with quilling paper technology. Since then, I have tried to use paper as a carrier of artistic expression. Paper is a material that is both flexible and rigid enough to satisfy various forms of expression. Explore the various possibilities of paper art, and want to combine paper art with traditional Chinese art, and create on this basis, so as to perfectly integrate traditional elements, digital creation and paper art technology.
Soon after discovering my enthusiasm and unique style, my artwork was invited to cooperate with international brands Prada, Lancel, Montblanc etc, and was invited and participated in many exhibitions by UNESCO. Sino-French activities, invited by the Cannes Film Festival to participate in charity auctions, invited to participate in the 55th anniversary celebration of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France jointly organized by the Chinese Press Office and the French government, recommended works on the INSTAGRAM homepage, and customized paper art works for world art collectors, In 2021, one of my artwork won the world's leading A'Design Grand Prix with a gold medal in the handmade category, and was invited by the mayor of Paris VANVES to hold a personal exhibition in the city hall.
In the field of artistic creation, I think that characters should be the most difficult to express, because people have souls and thoughts. It is necessary to grasp the subtle expressions and movements of the characters through observation. Only by grasping the special features of each character can we have It may portray a living work, especially the eyes, which can reflect the soul of a person. I am obsessed with reflecting the spiritual realm of the characters through the portrayal of the eyes.I am very fascinated by paper as a material, because it has two relative properties of flexibility and hardness, just like human beings. If we are too soft and fragile, and lack strong body and spirit, we may be hit by sudden failure. , Thus losing the power to start again,
If we only have hardness, think that there are no difficulties and dangers, and we are omnipotent, then we lack inner sensitivity and delicacy. The combination of rigidity and softness is the best state, and it will not be too much or too lacking. Paper is such a material, which can be used to make a solid body, and it can also be used to express slender and agile themes. Therefore, when creating with paper, I will try my best to show the two characteristics of paper in the same picture to form a contrast.
For example, by tightly rolling up the paper strips to look like a very strong small cylinder (hardness), or by overlapping several paper strips and curling them, leaving space between each other, but maintaining a smooth curve shape (toughness), There is a degree of relaxation.
Curves and arcs are the elements that I often use in my works. I especially like the smooth curved lines. They have a sense of flow, which makes people feel that the picture is constantly flowing. It is alive and endless. The circle is a completely curved form of expression, and the paper strip is a material that is particularly easy to create a perfect curve. We give it an external force, and then borrow its own inherent flexibility to create a perfect natural curve.
This may be the reason why I am obsessed with the collision with paper again and again, and this is also the source of inspiration for my creation. I have always had a wish to use my paper art work to let more people know the niche art of quilling paper, and to create artworks that can give people spiritual pleasure and bring thinking.I hope that my works can express themes that are beneficial to society, the environment, the world, and human life.
