I am a member of the American Pastel Society. My first group exhibition at the Swiss Art Space gallery in Lausanne, Switzerland, was in 2018: Exposition internationale d’art contemporain “Portrait”; I had the opportunity to exhibit my art work several times until present, most recently “Hiver 2020”. I also participated at the group exhibition “Metamorphosis” at the Karouzou Gallery in Zurich. I accepted the offer by Sarto Weber to illustrate the beautiful lyrics of Anna Greta Wide, a Swedish writer. This book, Broar-Brücken, (“Bridges”), is available at the St. Peter and Paul in Zurich. I give thanks to my teacher in arts, Renate Friedländer. She and her family escaped from the Nazi Holocaust. Later, she returned to Germany. Finally she settled in Cologne, where I joined her art lessons at the Wallraf-Richartz Museum workshops for years.
I prefer figurative art. My favourite media are pastel, pencil, and digital sketches. I prefer to take images from real objects e.g. to observe animals at the zoo or at farms, to be outdoors or just to use my imagination. I also create images to translate my Christian faith. I do not have the intention to compete with photographic precision. Instead I want to catch the essential characteristics of my objects expressing “fullness of life” visually. I love to touch the person’s heart looking at it.
