Ursula Waldburger, born 1962 in Pasadena, USA. In the twenty years of practice following her training as a textile designer, the artist made a name for herself with innovative, digital embroidery concepts. Striving to expand the possibilities of machines and frames as much as possible, she became the go-to person for tricky embroidery tasks, working for renowned theaters and opera houses as well as for the big screen.
"My works are created from material collected and found. Twenty years of research in the medium of embroidery - it goes without saying: textiles play a major role in my artistic work. Stitches are brushstrokes. They can be rhythm, grid and dissolution, rain, pain.
