Sarah Vollmer was born in Miami, Florida, where her earliest artistic inspiration came from her mother, an art teacher. After moving to Germany in 2011 with her husband, she worked as a cook and later as a nanny, rediscovering her creative voice through the world of children’s book illustration. Inspired by artists such as Axel Scheffler and Susanne Rottraut Berner, and exhibitions like Konstanzer Katzentanz, she began developing her own style, exploring the joy and imagination that art can bring to both children and adults. Through a lens of surreal whimsy, she creates works that delight the eye while quietly stirring deeper feelings.
