Art Made accessible – Event.
I am an autodidact artist and a great enthusiast for conceptual art - its' ideas and the way they are transformed from abstract philosophy to concrete art objects. My interest is pure art; the making of it, its philosophies, ideas, the methods and materials that construct it. My artwork corresponds with themes central to Art Philosophy, ideas and conflicts, as well as with the Artists who addressed them. Among them are the works of: Duchamp, Man Ray, Brancusi, Rauschenberg, Cage, Malevich, Fontana, Kosuth, Beuys and Heizer. It draws on the thinking of Walter Benjamin, Henri Bergson and Jacque Lacan. The themes most prominent in my work are Space- matter correlation, nothingness and beingness, present and absent, drawing and erasing. My art work reacts to topics that engage and trouble me in our society, politics and environment. When an idea enters my mind it appears as an image in the artistic medium I will use to execute the work. The idea, topic and the image "choose" the medium of the work. My art works are conceptual, but in addition to the focus I give the idea, the aestheticism of the result is very important to me. My Images are minimalistic in nature, while my choice of mediums varies - sculpture, video, documented performance and photography.
