Read MoreSara Vighi (Reggio Emilia, Italy-EU, 1969) studied Classical Literature and Archaeology at the University of Bologna and attended at the Master of Fine arts in Imaging arts and Photography at Fondazione Fotografia. She took part in numerous archaeological excavations (as an archaeologist and as a photographer) and worked in the local museum of her birth town as a teacher of the museum education program and then in publishing houses and graphic studios as editor and content manager. Her photographic research has a political character and is part of the landscape post-photography. Through still-life images of everyday foods, objects and materials, she creates geoiconographies, that is, studies of places related to his life, both geographical and otherwise, which are based on a different presentation method each time. The photographs are in fact inserted into photographic plates which, also using the text, reproduce compositional schemes specific to different cultural fields: mostly art-historical (nineteenth-century engravings, antiquarian drawings, azulejos, Pompeian painting) but also technical-scientific (editorial layouts).
