En tant qu'ex-directeur créatif et fondateur d'une agence de publicité à l'île de La Réunion, j'ai
redécouvert ma passion pour la peinture et l'expression artistique après une carrière intense
dans la publicité. Ma "vocation" pour le dessin humoristique et la peinture est une réaction
naturelle contre un monde fracturé par la haine sur les réseaux sociaux et le manque de
responsabilité de certains dirigeants actuels. Je perçois une société à la dérive, en quête d'une
éthique où le passé et l'avenir, l'Occident et l'Orient se confrontent pour des raisons
économiques ou idéologiques.
Je n’ai pas suivi de formation académique. Mes œuvres relèvent d’une triple pulsion :
autobiographique, autofictionnelle, et passionnelle. Né au Mozambique, je suis attiré par le
dessin et la création artistique depuis mon plus jeune âge. Très engagé artistiquement avec
mon école à Johannesburg en Afrique du Sud (Jeppe High School), j’ai participé activement à
toutes les disciplines artistiques en France et au Portugal. Ma vie professionnelle m’a orienté
vers la création publicitaire et le marketing, où j’ai exercé pendant plus de 35 ans. Aujourd’hui,
à la retraite, je me consacre entièrement à ma passion première : la création artistique. Je vis
depuis plus de 30 ans à La Réunion et je travaille en m’amusant avec l’objectif d’exposer et de
faire connaître mes travaux et idées.
As a creative director and founder of an advertising agency in Réunion Island, I rediscovered my passion for painting and artistic expression after an intense career in advertising. My ‘calling’ for humorous drawing and painting is a natural reaction against a world fractured by hatred on social media and the lack of responsibility among some of today’s leaders. I see a society adrift, searching for an ethical foundation where the past and the future, the West and the East, clash for economic or ideological reasons.
I did not follow an academic training path. My works stem from a triple impulse: autobiographical, autofictional, and passionate. Born in Mozambique, I have been drawn to drawing and artistic creation since a very young age. Highly artistically engaged with my school in Johannesburg, South Africa (Jeppe High School), I actively participated in all artistic disciplines in France and Portugal. My professional life led me towards advertising creation and marketing, where I worked for over 35 years. Today, in retirement, I am fully dedicated to my first passion: artistic creation. I have lived in Réunion for over 30 years, and I work with the goal of exhibiting and sharing my works and ideas while having fun.”
