Biography
Nady Vi is a contemporary Russian artist whose creative path combines analytical thinking and emotional expression.
Born into the family of a military officer, she spent her childhood moving from place to place. Much of her early work was lost over the years, yet several black-and-white pencil drawings survived and remain among her most cherished possessions. They preserve the emotions, dreams, and observations of a young artist already searching for her own visual language.
Although professionally educated as a mathematician with a specialization in higher geometry, Nady Vi never abandoned her connection with art. The precision of mathematical thinking and the freedom of artistic intuition became two complementary forces shaping her worldview.
After many years devoted to professional and family responsibilities, she returned to painting with renewed determination. Working primarily in oil, acrylic, drawing, and mixed visual approaches, the artist explores a wide spectrum of styles, from figurative imagery and portraiture to abstraction and symbolic compositions. Her works are united by a common intention: to translate personal experience, memory, emotion, and human character into visual form.
Nady Vi is particularly interested in the poetic nature of the image. Music, dance, feminine beauty, inner strength, tenderness, memory, and cultural heritage frequently appear as recurring themes throughout her work. Rather than pursuing a single stylistic formula, she embraces artistic exploration and continuous development.
Her paintings have been presented in international exhibitions and competitions, including exhibitions in Moscow and Beijing, where her works received professional recognition and awards.
Today, Nady Vi continues to develop an artistic language that combines sincerity, emotional openness, and a belief in the enduring value of beauty. Her works invite viewers to pause, reflect, and rediscover the extraordinary within everyday life.
Artist Statement
I do not seek to explain the world through painting.
I seek to feel it.
My works are born from memories, emotions, observations, music, literature, human encounters, and moments that leave an invisible trace in the soul. Sometimes a painting begins with a face, sometimes with a color, sometimes with a feeling that cannot be expressed in words.
I admire beauty, but not beauty as decoration. I am interested in beauty that carries experience, intelligence, vulnerability, dignity, and history.
As an artist, I allow myself freedom. I move between figurative painting, portraiture, symbolism, and abstraction because every idea requires its own language.
The world is diverse, surprising, and endlessly fascinating. My art is an invitation to share that sense of wonder.
