Iuliia Vakhutinskaia was born in Moscow and graduated from the Faculty of Industrial Design of the Academy of Stroganov in 2000. During 20 years, she has been working in the carpet design and carpet manufacturing technology, developing a broad experience in interior design and reconstruction. From an early age Iuliia studied and practiced plein air painting and portraits from life. She has been teaching drawing, painting and the basics of composition for 15 years, 10 of which - in her own studio.
Mother of three children.
Iuliia is a certified art-therapist with children that have disabilities.
“I am interested in the language of textile as concentrated images can penetrate it. I want a person to see in the mundane the reason to switch, to think about something more important in life and contemplate on a philosophical statement proposed by an art object.
As a painter and a graphic artist, I am very interested in people, in their character, and potential. Even if I create an ornament from flowers and animals, all my attention is focused on revealing a character, something very personal and something that did not exist before.” IG
