Roxana Urra (born in San Carlos, Chile, 1967) is a Chilean visual artist based in Terrassa, Barcelona. Her work is characterized by a profound sensitivity toward nature, the urban environment, and the human condition, explored through an introspective gaze that blends figurative and abstract elements.
A self-taught artist by vocation, she has developed her skills independently through constant and rigorous practice, enriched by the study of specialized literature and extensive research in digital resources. This process has allowed her to engage with a wide diversity of artistic movements—such as Surrealism, Art Informel, abstract art, and the Renaissance—which have profoundly influenced the evolution of her visual language.
In 2015, she won first prize in a comic competition organized by the Zaragoza City Council with her work Terapia de choque. Since then, she has participated in various group exhibitions and developed personal projects in the field of painting. In 2020, she took part in a group show at the Cultural Center “Els Amics de les Arts” in Terrassa. In 2022, she held her first solo exhibition with the pictorial series El animal que somos at the same cultural center. In 2023, she participated in a group exhibition at Impaktes Visuals Gallery in Sabadell, Barcelona, and in the Swiss Art Expo (online) in Zürich, Switzerland. In 2025, she will take part in the international group exhibition organized by Zarin Galleria at Helsinki Cathedral, Finland, as well as in the group exhibition of RAW Rome Art Week 2025 with CravingArt_Art Gallery in Rome, Italy. Also in 2025, she will participate in a group exhibition organized by Buat Fine Art Gallery in Barcelona, Spain.
Her work is held in private collections in Europe.
Currently, Roxana Urra continues her artistic production from her studio in Terrassa, focusing on developing works that navigate the dreamlike, the symbolic, and the expressive, all marked by a strong personal imprint.
