Artist Sevim Ünal decided to move to Belgium from Turkey in 1992, where she could develop further in art. That same year, she also enrolled in painting classes at the Berchem Academy. Where Sevim studied for a period to master the Dutch and English languages. Then in 1998, she organised the first Turkish theatre group in Belgium. Besides managing this group, she also spent much of her time writing her own plays, poems and short stories.
Her exhibitions were a success and received a lot of attention in Belgium.
