Nikolas (b. 1961, Athens) is a self-taught Greek artist who lives and works in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His sculptures find inspiration in the past and, at the same time, create a vision for the future. Like Alberto Giacometti and Paul Gaugin, Nikolas is fascinated by the minimal aesthetic of primitive civilizations, as well as by the purity of form in Protocycladic figurines and the dynamic movement of Minoan sculpture, which he modernizes in order to touch on universal subjects of the human condition such as love and the quest for spiritual enlightenment. The main theme of his first series of artworks is our relationship with ourselves, the world and the cosmos, in an age that is defined by machine learning.
