Gerald Trimmel
Media artist, composer and sound artist, cultural scientist, art therapist
Born 1962 in Hollabrunn, Austria.
Studied electroacoustic composition with Dieter Kaufmann at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna, history and German philology at the University of Vienna, and art therapy at the Sigmund Freud Private University Vienna.
Since 1985, interdisciplinary artistic practice at the intersections of sound art, visual media, and media theory. Developer of the Cybernetic Canvas concept, which explores generative image processes, expanded animation, and sound art strategies.
In the field of child and adolescent psychiatry, Trimmel developed the method of intermodal art and design diagnostics, with a special focus on processuality and self-reflection.
