I am a full time artist living in Phoenix, AZ. Although born in Illinois, I had the good fortune to grow up in Europe. To see some of the greatest art and architecture of Western civilization was a great start to being an artist. I received my MFA from the U of IL in the 80’s and have taught college studio and lecture courses. I have been creating unique custom paintings/murals for a variety of business and private clients for 25 years. I maintain a studio art practice, exhibiting locally and regionally as well as having the occasional gallery showing. Most recent awards include the Phoenix Mayor's Arts Award in 2021 and a grant from the Phoenix Arts Commission in 2023.
Art is philosophical for me and a place to contemplate how thoughts create stories and how imagination creates reality. I have a strong desire to assist people in experiencing life more fully. Through realism, careful attention to detail, rich colors and unusual points of view, my art can prompt a viewer to marvel at existence, to be more keenly aware of their surroundings and be more intrigued with their environment and their life.
