Chilean visual artist, resident in Spain since 2017, and in Tenerife (Canary Islands) since 2021. He is also co-founder and member of the performing arts company "Ni desnudo ni bajando la escalera" and of the cultural project AGÜITA Arte Contemporáneo, in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, where he has been the 1st prize at the Fine arts biennial 2023.
He has held exhibitions in important galleries, independent spaces and public institutions, both in Barcelona, Santiago de Chile, Valparaíso and Marbella (Barcelona: Galería Esther Montoriol, Lab36, Fundación Felicia Fuster, Espronceda Institute of Art and Culture, Chile: Galería Arte Space, Vloc, Casa Andacollo, Excarcel de Valparaíso Cultural Park, Marbella:Galería 151…). As artistic director of NDNBLE, he has twice obtained national culture and arts funds from Chile, and is currently expanding internationally with the French theater company MPTA, with which in 2023 he has premiered his third show, presented in the international Utopiste festival. He has collaborated with artists, and has carried out artistic residencies at Fabra i Coats, Centro Cultural Picasso Homecourt Francia and PAA Barcelona among others.
Today he runs his own artistic space, in the capital of Tenerife, where he currently resides. AGÜITA Contemporary Art is an open workshop and exhibition gallery. A large multipurpose space for convergence and artistic participation.
His work is based on constant trial and error across multiple disciplines. Although he mostly works in painting, collecting elements related to landscape, color and post-production. Tondreau resignifies the elements and images collected through disciplinary change and variation. Thus we could define his style as “non-style”, since his incessant path in pictorial research varies the techniques and forms of expression as an exercise in honesty with his work and his person, who like every element of nature, lives constantly changing.
