Karmen
Tomsic works most of her life internationally as a freelancer camerawoman, editor,
cinema operator and technician for national televisions, private studios,
advertising agencies, cultural centers and individual companies. For several
years she is producing her own electronic music. She has been working on films, shorts and documentary films, that some of
them are today historical heritage. She started her career in Slovenia. She worked
in the advertising industry for several years, some daily newsroom and as a
technician on some of the largest advertising and film festivals on the world. She
is still working on some of them. She was working also on international
conferences, nautical salons, regattas and for many years for a
production company, where they were specialized, on production of films on the
water. She filmed under and above the water. Then she devoted a few
years to projects in the mountains, also for Italian national television, on
South Tirol in northern Italy. She has a akademic titel Master of Art. Painting and designing
have always been her great passion. She used some of her designed characters for
animations in her projects. In last few years she paints a lot with golden, silver and bronze colours. She
uses different techniques, mainly acrylic,
oil and pastel colours and ceramic pens. In last project she unites paintings
and artistic films, where she draws attention to the vulnerable underwater world that people are not aware
of, don't see or don’t have chance to see it. Clear water is the source of our existence
and we have to preserve it. All her life she tries to combine her three
passions, design, film and sport. She has been
exhibiting her works internationally as a designer from 1995 with her first
exhibition in London and Manchester. She presented her international project
The Barrel on World exhibition Milano Expo 2015 in Italy. The project is still
presented as one of the commemorative projects on this event in Cascina
Triulza. She also worked in
the fashion world for several years and have a lot of experiences in the areas
of tourism, culture and sport. She was member of some international juries on
some international film festivals. She speaks fluently five languages and lives
in Switzerland.
