Biography: I am born and grew up in Kongsvinger, Norway. After high school, 45 years ago, I went to Ticino, the border with Italy in Switzerland, to learn weaving in a professional environment, Tessitura La Vignora, Bedigliora. After finishing my MA at College of Art, Oslo, and until today I have investigated the possibility of weaving large textiles that can be folded into a shape. Folded together, opened, folded again, the same way each time.Repetition and communication are two important terms for me. I get the motivation from nature and science. Organic material that is expressed in a geometric form. A built-in scaffold grid that makes it possible to fold, assemble in a controlled manner. From the indefinite to the particular, from chaos to order. For 25 years I have been folding paper to understand how lines and folds give different direction and shape. In 2013, I could try the idea in the Textillab, Tilburg, the Netherlands, for the first time. The producers who thought it was not possible to weave diagonals in the digital jacquard loom. I proved that it was possible and it became a breakthrough. Since then I have been on textile lab twice to produce for exhibitions. The textiles appear as architectural elements more than carpets. The materials (paper thread, linen, mohair and lurex) along with the expression make the work transforme old tradition into our time. Now I am commute between Rendalen, in Norway and North Italy, near the border to Switzerland where I first time learn to weav. My basis as a weaver has given me insight into repetition of motion and patterns infinitely. Never the less construction, not pattern has been my preoccupation.Studying the composition of the structure is my inspiration.CVName: Tone HellerudAdress 1: Lomnessjøen øst 147, 2485 Rendalen, NorwayAdress 2: Via Risorgimento 2, 21010 Runo di Dumenza, ItalyE-mail: email@example.com www.tmh.no Education: 1987 - 91 MA from National College of Art, OsloMemberships: The Association of Norwegian Visual Artists, The Association of Norwegian Textile artists.Selected individual exhibition:2018 Project room, Art Festival in Kunstbanken, Hamar, Norway2018 Art Association in Kongsvinger, Norway2017-16 Casa Caprani, Runo di Dumenza, Italy2016 The Gallery in Norwegian Forest Museum, Elverum, Norway2015 Gallery Ludens, Kongsvinger, Norway2012 CasaAtelierBedigliora, Switzerland2008 Art Association in Kongsvinger, Norway2007 Gallery Nääs Castle, Floda, Sweden2005 Kunstbanken, Hamar, Norway2004 RAM gallery, Oslo, Norway1995 Art Association in Kongsvinger, Norway1993 The crypt, Oslo Cathedral, NorwayJuryed Group and collective exhibitions in selection:2017 Soft moments, Grue-Finnskog, Norway2016 Gallery Hilsen, Fagernes, Norway2015 Hønse Lovisas House, Oslo, Norway2014-00-99 Eastern Exhibition, Norway2011 Room for Art, Peder Balke Senter, Østre Toten, Norway2008 a world of folk, Stavanger, Norway2006 WORKS, traveling exhibition, Finland2005 "TEXTILE 05”, Kaunas, Lithuania2005 Usher Gallery, Lincoln, England2000 2ere biennale du lin, Gallery SEMA, Paris, France1998-95 4th IN OUR HANDS, Nagoya, Japan1997 1ere biennale du lin contemporain, Paris, France1994 4th International competition, Kyoto, JapanWorks in collection:2018,2005,00, 99, 97 National Women´s Museum, Kongsvinger, Norway2005 Women´s Center, Sendai, Japan2005,95 Hedmark County Municipality2000 Municipality in Kongsvinger1999 Art Association in Kongsvinger1997 Norwegian Cultural CouncilPublic Commissions:2008 Nordli Primary School, Østre Toten2007 Fagerlund Primary School, Brumunddal2003 Roverud Care Center, Kongsvinger2001 Klukstuen Care Center, Hamar1999 National Women Museum, Kongsvinger1998 Langeland Primary School, KongsvingerGrants:2016 The Association of visual artist, project support2016 The Association of visual artist, assistance fund, senior scholarship 1 year.2015 Specialization scholarships from Norwegian Art and Craft Association2012-14 The Norwegian state's 3-year work grant2010 The Norwegian state´s various scholarships2005 The County of Hedmark, materials grant2004 The Norwegian State´s traveling grant2015,07,03 The Norwegian State´s exhibition grant2003,94 The County of Hedmark, Artist grant2001 The Association of visual artist, working grant1991 The Norwegian State´s establishment scholarship
