With a diverse background as an architect, artist, designer, and educator, Marissa Tirone combines her architectural training with a passion for art and design. Her work explores typology, public space, and the intersection of representation and architecture, blending elements of architecture and industrial design. Marissa has been involved in notable design projects, including work for the Golisano Children's Hospital, and has collaborated with a multidisciplinary team to develop resilient building types for post-disaster sites.
Since joining the School of Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology, she has taught courses in Foundations, Industrial Design, and leads an annual Study Abroad Program in Rome. Marissa holds a B.Arch from the University of Kentucky and an M.Arch II from Cornell University. She has taught at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, covering design studio, thesis, representation, fine arts, and international field studies.
