Jenni Tieaho has been working as a sculptorand an environmental artists over for 20 years. Sheis specialized in sculptures, installations and environmental art. She graduated from art programme in Art School Maa and furniture design in Lahti University of Applied Sciences. Tieaho has taken part in several private and joint exhibitions like the BIRCHBARCK exhibition in the museum of Akseli Gallen-Kallela. In 2018 Tieaho took part in two joint exhibitions in Lohja: in Main Library and Tytyri Mine Experience. The State Art Commission, the Art Commission of Helsinki and the foundation of Saastamoinen has purchased Tieaho’s artworks among others. She has received grants from Art Promotion Centre Finland, while example Visual Arts Public Display Grant. She wishes to preserve traditional Finnish styles of sculpture, so she uses them in her works. In the center of her artwork are natural materials like willow and birch bark. Her style to handle these natural materials is an organic way to design unique environmental artworks. Organic materials are not the only occurrence of nature in her artworks. Nature plays an important role in her artworks. Her artworks Greyish and Bound are great examples: Greyish is an impressive sculpture of a horse, made in life size and Bound seems it belongs in a forest.
