alternately in Merchtem and Spa. I graduated in law (K.U.L.), lived and worked
in Africa for several years and was a business manager for a long time.
A few years ago, I discovered my love for
painting and decided to devote more time to it. I took a few specialised
courses and mostly do a lot of self-study. I immerse myself in understanding
different techniques, materials and styles.
I have always been a lover of photography,
which has led to an extensive personal photo archive. No doubt this is why I
love to combine the two. My photographic material is often the starting point.
I find it fascinating to see how a photographic image, often a snapshot, takes
on another dimension by converting it to a painted image.
Memory becomes imagination, both literally and
figuratively.
It is not the end station, but mainly the road
towards it that fascinates and gives me pleasure. Determined to always reach
the next station, I look for some good guides and fellow travellers.
