What if God had forgotten to draw the birds?
Research-based, multidisciplinary artist Polina Teyrasse based in Clermont-Ferrand, France. Her work explores absence as an active field of knowledge, creating “ino-fantasies” of possible worlds and developing a visual philosophy of what might have been but never came to be.
Following traces of the uncreated and seeking images beyond visibility, she shapes a new iconography through mixed media, found objects, and symbolic materials. She has developed Absontia — an artistic method grounded in Inoreality, Ino-iconography, and Inodogmas.
For her, absence ≠ emptiness: it becomes a generative force, revealing hidden potential in reality. Her works invite viewers to contemplate and reimagine presence, asking what could exist instead of the familiar world — and how that shift might transform us?
