Norwegian-based artist Catherine Teig has taken undergraduate studies and is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Australia. She has been a member of the Norwegian Graphic Workshop in Oslo since 2021, working with lithography, woodcuts prints and photopolymer prints. She also holds a PhD in medical and health sciences and has exhibited in solo and group shows since 2012, including Oslo Open, Oslo City Hall, Go-to-Gate Gallery, and Granum Art Gallery in Oslo.
Her works explores the interplay between fractal and abstract forms, ranging from geometric to organic shapes found in nature and across the cosmos. By balancing these forms and the void surrounding and connecting them, dynamic tension and unity of opposites emerge. These ideas form the core of her large-scale acrylic paintings and the graphic prints derived from them through mixed techniques.
