I am Jacqueline Taylor, a visual artist based in Heald Green, Cheshire. My passion lies in capturing the essence of everyday life and ordinary people through realism in my artwork. I believe in leaving the interpretation of my scenes to the viewer, allowing them to create their own narratives and connections with the subjects depicted.
Drawing inspiration from a variety of sources, I am particularly captivated by the ability to ignite the imagination and create a sense of wonder through the masterful use of light in paintings. It is my goal to make my work equally captivating by leaving ample room for the viewer's imagination to flourish.
My artistic journey began with a Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art and Design from The Manchester College. Building on that foundation, I went on to earn a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the University of Salford in 2022.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to showcase my artwork in various prestigious exhibitions, including The Manchester Open Exhibition, Home – Manchester, Grayson's Art Club – Manchester Art Gallery, Come See Comme Ca – INNSiDE by Melia, and The Royal Academy of Art Summer Exhibition. I take great pride in the fact that my piece from Grayson's Art Club has become a permanent part of the esteemed collection at Manchester Art Gallery.
My paintings strive to create an empathetic understanding of the subjects portrayed, transcending any barriers of gender, identity, culture, race, class, or sexual orientation. I aim to connect with the viewer on a deep emotional level, allowing them to relate to and understand the thoughts and emotions of the individuals depicted in my art.
I am actively engaged in sharing my work and creative process on social media, particularly through Instagram. I welcome you to explore my portfolio and website at www.makethepiece.com, where you will delve into the creative vision and inspiration behind my paintings.
As a painter, I specialise in using oil paint to bring the everyday lives of people and places to life in a relatable and realistic manner. My focus is on empathy, capturing the emotions and thoughts of my subjects in a way that fosters a sense of connection and understanding between the viewer and the painting's subject.
I strive to create an immersive experience for the viewer, inviting them to imagine their own interpretation of the narrative and develop a profound empathetic connection with the people and experiences portrayed. Regardless of any differences in gender, identity, culture, race, class, or sexual
orientation, my goal is to use realism as a medium to foster a sense of connection and understanding between the viewer and the subjects of my paintings.
I invite you to join me on my artistic journey as we transform the ordinary into the extraordinary through my contemporary art of the everyday.
