Edmund Tan (B. 1995, Kuala Lumpur) is an Associate Principal in Kohn Pederson Fox (KPF) by day and artist by night. Alongside his work, he co-founded Substance+Co and runs a research studio called Platform NULL.
He graduated from the Bartlett School of Architecture (UCL), Unit 10 with distinction and received the MArch Pt.II Portfolio Prize. Following his studies, he assisted C.J. Lim in teaching at The Bartlett (UCL) and The National University of Singapore (NUS). He did his undergraduate in the University of Liverpool and was nominated for the RIBA President’s Bronze Medal and the Young Talent Architecture Award.
Edmund’s artistic pursuits gravitate toward the realm of surrealistic digital art and narrative architecture. His background in architecture allows him to meticulously craft immersive worlds that convey compelling narratives while delving into social, political, and environmental issues.
Edmund’s work has been exhibited in prestigious venues such as the London Art Biennale, Suzhou Museum, Saatchi Gallery and across Europe.
