Mayumi Taguchi is an artist and former industrial designer based in Japan. She spent over a decade working in Milan’s design industry, where she developed an understanding of objects as systems shaped by use, production, and time.

Her artistic practice extends this perspective into material-based work, focusing on how perception and temporality emerge through processes of making. Working across painting and mixed media, she employs layered analog techniques that emphasize accumulation, transformation, and the instability of the image.

Having lived and worked across Europe, South America, and Japan, her practice is informed by diverse cultural contexts and the circulation of materials and forms. Her works have been exhibited internationally.
