My name is Renata Stróżyńska.I was born in 1962.I grew up in Poland during the strong communist influence of the USSR.The colors that dominated our surroundings, clothing, and buildings were various shades of gray. The first object that made the greatest impression on me was my father's painting palette. I still remember this strong contrast. For me, it was a pop of color in a black and white film.My father was an art teacher, but he did everything he could to ensure my education was not related to art.In 1987, I graduated from Poznań University of Technology and immediately after graduation, I started my own business. Initially, I designed and knitted sweaters, and after a few years, I launched clothing production.I used my creativity to design fabrics and clothes, which I sold under my own brand.Due to external circumstances, I gave up part of my business in 2010. Since then, I have run a clothing manufacturing company. My painting dreams had to wait for a better time.Since 2017, I have been fortunate to have the space and time to experiment and explore my own means of expression in painting. In 2019, I discovered a new medium. I began painting with colored epoxy resin. This is a very demanding material because the resin has a very short working time, and factors such as humidity and ambient temperature change its physical properties. From the time the resin is poured until it fully hardens, chemical reactions occur within it, contributing to the final result. These characteristics mean that it is never possible to precisely plan and execute a work according to the artist's expectations. The end result is always a surprise, and the works are unique and unrepeatable. No one can duplicate them, not even the artist. That's why I fell in love with resin as a medium. In 2019 and 2022, I exhibited my works at the Warsaw Home Fair, in the design zone. The excellent feedback and intense interest have made me continue to enjoy creating new paintings. I don't remember who first described me as a "Colorist," but I think that word best defines my art.
