AJ Stetson is an image maker who strives to capture the radiance of his subjects and their environments, to show the miraculousness within the extraordinary and the everyday. From intimate studios to underwater, aerial, urban, and rural locations, AJ is dedicated to seeking and shaping the best light in any environment.
A dual citizen of the United States and Italy, and based in New York City, AJ is a magna cum laude graduate of Williams College, and fluent with Capture One Pro, Photoshop, and DaVinci Resolve. AJ can quickly capture, process, and deliver both still and moving images for a wide range of editorial and commercial projects.
AJ is a Phase One Certified Professional, a PADI Advanced Open Water scuba diver, an American College of Sports Medicine Exercise Physiologist, and an FAA Part 107 UAS (drone) pilot. Since recovering from COVID-19 in early April after 25 days of quarantine, he has created masked portraits of over a thousand New Yorkers, all with permission, and using a telephoto prime lens to remain socially distanced. This has become an outdoor exhibition of four-foot tall portrait banners, near Union Square, across from City Hall, and as part of Art on the Ave NYC, across from The American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan.
