Luisa Sabrina Stark was interested in artistic creation from an early age. After primary school and lower secondary school in Winterthur, she transferred to the Liceo Artistico in Zurich. The human figure fascinated her and painting and modelling from nudes were her favourite subjects.
Fundamental questions about the cohesion and functioning of our world preoccupied her, and so she decided to study physics at ETH Zurich after graduating from high school. Her drive to understand accompanied her during her studies, which she completed with „Summa cum Laude“, and led her to write her doctoral thesis on the topic of "Dark Matter Search" and „Supersymetry".
While she was working as a researcher, her first daughter was born, and a few weeks after the defence, her second daughter was born. In the following years, Luisa Sabrina Stark worked part-time as a research assistant at ETH Zurich and had two more sons. The part-time work allowed her to further develop her artistic language. With the children, her desire to focus more on the human being grew and so she enrolled for another Master's degree in medical physics. Physiology and anatomy fascinated her and helped her in her figurative, artistic work.
In recent years, Luisa Sabrina Stark has become increasingly involved in social and socio-political issues. In addition to her artistic work, she also works part-time in radiooncology at the University Hospital Zurich. Modern techniques such as computer tomography and magnetic resonance spectroscopy allow her to look inside the human body. Her fascination with the human body runs through her entire development.
Her artistic works reflect her joy of experimentation and fearlessness in the most diverse materials and techniques.
