My name is Sol Mussa and I was born in Vigo, Spain. I spent my first years of life in my father's country: Mozambique. Then all my family moved to Nicaragua because of mum's work. We came back to Spain where I grew and study at school. The thing I remember the most from my childhood is the time dedicated to Painting and Drawing. Art was with me since the beggining, and the best way of express myself is through these great tool. I never give up this area. At highschool I began comic lessons at the central library of my city. It was a stage of my life where I learned about telling stories but in a simple way. I am still having the sentence "Less is More" by Mies in my thoughts when I create something. I also watched amount of movies at home with my family. Spanish films were my favourite ones because of their truth of my own society. It represents my ancestors, the white background that comes from my mum's genetic. I've always need to watch films in my artistic education, it teaches me to sympathizes and to believe in many different stories. I decided to be part of the artistic world when I was 16. In my artistic bachelor I made the hardest projects and exams, I really wanted to do my best as much as I could. I understood that becoming an artist it is as serious as another kind of job. So I began Fine Arts Degree. My mind was absolutly changing during college. I was becoming an adult. All my experiences, my relationships, the places where I lived were such a great material for my work. Life was the same as Art. I began materialyzing the interesting things about my enviroment. I started to work for me, to feel much better with my personal life. Making projects at the university permitted me exhibit some of them.I have done an Erasmus in Milano, Italy. It was such an amazing experience meeting L'Accademia di Brera in downtown. I have met brilliant teachers and I have learned many things about art that I still think nowadays. I finished my first ouevre and aimed themes like Intimicy-Privacy, Presence-Absence, Emptiness-Filled or Beauty-Beast.The main feature of my Artwork is the artisan role of Painting, the important of colour shapes, the different textures retracing the ground nature. It always reminds me the wild landscapes I have seen when I was a child in Mozambique and Nicaragua. The last to months I was living in London because of an Intership as general inters in a museum. Now I am looking for an artistic gallery job from January, and probably maybe begin next year a Master of Fine Arts in the city.
